EXPRESS ALERT Service
MTNL Mumbai is launching USSD services in association with M/s Contakt Tech Solutions India Pvt. Ltd. for Dolphin & Trump mobile subscribers. USSD is abbreviation for Unstructured Supplementary Services Data. USSD messages are menu based user friendly messages. As they do not have the concept of store and forward, they are almost 7 times faster than conventional SMS. Also a USSD message has 182 characters while normal SMS has 160 characters.
To subscribe to this service, the customer has to dial a specific service code. A menu is presented and customer can choose any alternative from it. After authentication customer starts getting alerts for the subscribed services. The frequency of alerts sent in a day depends upon the type of service subscribed.
How to use: - To avail this service, the customer has to dial *123#. A menu is presented and customer can choose an option from it.
